Smithson Craighead Academy (SCA), sponsored by Project Reflect, was the first charter school in Middle Tennessee, and we hope you will consider us for your child(ren).  SCA offers a rigorous academic program that specializes in helping students who are behind catch up while offering wonderful options for students who are on grade level or advanced.  SCA also offers a loving, nurturing environment in which you and your child become part of a real and life-long family.  We have data walls and track academic mastery on a weekly basis, but we also have fall festivals and pep rallies.  We offer intensive intervention strategies for students as well as daily hugs and high fives.  We offer academic excellence and the feel of the neighborhood schools we grew up in and loved as children ourselves.

SCA Highlights:

*A 24% jump in TCAP scores in 2013-14!  The highest jump in math scores of all elementary schools in MNPS with strong reading, science, and social studies scores!

*Ranked 15th out of all elementary schools in Nashville.

  1. Good Afternoon, I’d like to introduce myself and the company I work for, School Food and Wellness Group. We offer assistance to Charter schools who participate in the National School Lunch Program. We help take the administrative burden off the school operations hands, so they can focus on student education. We provide the following services for a low, monthly fee: Help charter schools become a School Food Authority to receive reimbursement for meals Conduct the RFP process to find a healthy, local vendor Process all meal applications Mail home notification letters to households Manage verification process Review data and submit monthly claims for meal reimbursement Conduct onsite program monitoring and compliance checks Assist before and during state audits Help with Direct Certification and the Community Eligibility Program Apply for Summer Food Service Program and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (Supper Program) For the past four years, we have helped countless charter schools manage this program across the US, and have successfully passed over 50 state audits with no financial findings. The National School Lunch Program is a wonderful program for at-risk students, but it comes with heavily regulated requirements, and requires a great attention to detail. If you think your school could use assistance with this program, please feel free to reach out. Have a great day!
